Fans Demand Detainment of Person Who Touched Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande attended an event in Singapore for the international debut of Wicked: For Good

Devoted fans of the actress are urging that a person who breached a barrier and seized the actress during the recent Wicked: For Good launch be taken into custody or expelled from Singapore.

A circulating clip shows the Australian man bypassing photographers and lunging at Grande while the actors walked down a event pathway flanked by supporters.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo immediately wrested the surprised actress away from Mr Wen, who was observed being escorted out of the gathering by event staff.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram recently that he was "let go after being taken in", though legal records revealed that he was set to be present on the following morning. It is not clear if he was formally accused.

Record of Event Invasions

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile features clips of him disturbing other high-profile occasions, including breaching the performance area at the pop singer's Sydney concert in earlier this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers event in the city last year.

"Steps should be implemented applied against him as this is clearly a criminal offence," wrote an Instagram follower, in a reply to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his act.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user wrote.

Supporters Show Disapproval Over Grande's Well-being

Numerous supporters criticized Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had discussed experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the end of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and wounding many.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" said another message on Instagram.

Several attendees also criticised event staff at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while some called for online networks to remove Mr Wen's uploads.

Response and Event Details

In footage shared widely, Grande looked startled when she was approached by the intruder. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen reassuring her while Mr Wen was led out by security.

Grande has remained silent on the event, and the rest of the event proceeded as normal.

Many of attendees had assembled in a sea of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific premiere in a Singapore shopping center, including several who had waited for as long as many hours before it commenced.

The motion picture, to be released on November 21, is the second of a two-part version of the popular theatrical musical Wicked, which focuses on the unexpected relationship between two distinct witches.

The musical itself is a derivative of the 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a champagne pink glittering gown at the gathering while Erivo, who portrays the villainous character, wore a black tube gown featuring roses.

They were alongside cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the most successful movie of 2024 in the UK, and scored 10 award recognitions, winning several for outstanding attire and set decoration.
