Nico O’Reilly One more composed display by the rising star after his initial appearance against another side. A teammate was unable to take the opportunity from an exquisite flick behind the opposing backline. The role is firmly his so soon. 7/10

Adam Wharton His first start in an England shirt. Slightly sloppy on the ball however his whipped set-pieces posed a danger. An effective game manager available to the boss to have versus teams who drop deep. Shown a yellow for a rash tackle. Six

The midfielder Deliveries from dead balls and set-plays created chances. Was given room to move down the left flank only to be offside as the pass came in shooting positions. Given a deserved substitution around the 60-minute point. 6/10

Jude Bellingham Functioned in a forward spot down the right while also contributed with defensive duties. Displayed flashes of quality but scuffed an attempt over. Substituted in the closing stages by Rogers, a fellow player, after being booked. 7/10

The winger Was presented with the team's best chance of the first half, his strike smartly stopped by the opposing goalkeeper. As a teammate staying deep, it fell to him to stretch the play down the right side but his crosses from the touchline were inconsistent. Replaced for the final quarter-hour. 6/10

The captain The difference-maker with his seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth finishes in an England shirt. His first a classic close-range tap-in and the second a superb header following a clever run away from the opposition.
