The visionary game developer, who helped create the wildly popular first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in California he was 55 years old.

Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the development studio that he helped create.

The influential industry figure lost his life when his vehicle was involved in a crash and burst into flames on a highway in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, as reported by.
